Fleurie Cave De Fleurie Case 12

Wine Maker Richard Lamarre makes this from 100% Gamay grapes. A lovely intense garnet red robe. The nose opens on to small red fruit and blackcurrant. Good attack on the palate with a really supple feel and fruit and freshness at the end. The oldest co-operative in Beaujolais, Cave de Fleurie are responsible for making over a third of all AC Fleurie wine on behalf of its 320 members. Despite its size, the Cave's totally quality focussed and represents very good value. The wines are fresh, attractive and bright with clean fruit flavours - archetypal Beaujolais, in other words. Their move to screwcap is another welcome innovation. Culinary Suggestions: Local charcuterie, ham cooked on the bone, white meat, roast saddle of lamb, Brie de Meaux.
